How'd I Get Here?

I remember someone mentioned Active Rain, so I signed up months ago and that was more or less the end of it. Last week I was researching the internet before buying a new camera without too much luck just googleing. I wanted to know how this camera would really work in the field and if agents found it to be a useful tool. Then I remembered signing up for this forum and the light bulb went off. ideaThe information was just overwhelming and so helpful.

Hmmm, I wondered what else I could find useful here. I must have read hundreds of blogs by now. It comes as no surprise to me that there are so many talented and generous people in our profession and I am proud to be affiliated with you. One of the very first blogs I read and bookmarked was Welcome Wagon-A newbie manual for Active Rain. Thanks Blanca! I put Gita's disclosure suggestion into practice. What a terrific tip!

I have "to do" and bookmark lists that continue to grow longer each day. The me-meez was fun to do but she is just a bit creepy. She can stay as long as she behaves...LOL. I look forward to participating in this wonderful blog world.

Oh, BTW, I did buy the camera (Kodak v705) and really like it. Can't wait to do a new virtual tour this evening.

Cheers,
Debbie

It was fun doing my first blog. I think I'm going to have fun with this. I've visited your lovely town of Warwick. Thanks Karen for the encouragement.

Hi Debbie -- I joined back in mid June and have become a blogging nut.  I hope you have as much fun here as I do.  Aloha

And I have been in West Virginia, years and years ago, not sure what town I was in, though. We were traveling cross country (in the 70's) going to Las Vegas! I remember the food was great!

Hi Lisa - So far so good with the camera. I basically knew from the research here and the net what I wouldn't like about it and it has been spot on. I was so bummed when my appointment had to cancel tonight on the photo shoot.

When you get a chance to use it, please let me know about the on-camera stitching and if it's really as easy as they claim to create panorama shots.

Hi Lisa - Yes, the on-camera stitching is very easy and straight forward. I did it on the first try <g>. I also like the on-camera cropping. I took a pic with the zoom along a busy road and quickly cropped it in the camera. The zoom is only 5x, but that's ok with me.

Thanks for the info.  I've been needing to buy a new camera for awhile, but couldn't decide which one.  So I've been reading all of the reviews and the Kodak seemed to have the best ones.  Of course, I haven't been able to find it locally, so I guess I'll have to order online and lurk at the door for the UPS guy.

Lisa - Here's another post today regarding this camera. I know, I couldn't find it in any stores either. Good luck with you decision.
