TANG...who knew you could do more than just drink it. Personally, I don't like the taste of the stuff but learned about a unique new use for it yesterday during a listing appointment.
While touring the home with the owner, we made our way to the basement and she pointed out their new
water filtration system. In this area, filtration systems are often necessary to eliminate the heavy iron particles that create unsightly stains on clothing and fixtures. The first indication they had a problem was when the dishwasher turned an ugly brown inside. She said a friend told her to use TANG to remove the staining by just running a cycle of the orange stuff in lieu of soap.
Hmmm, having the same stains in my dishwasher, I couldn't wait to stop by the grocery store and pick up a jar of the orange stuff. Guess what? It really did the trick! I love meeting people and learning new things.

Debbie -
I've never heard about Tang used this way before. I wonder if Coke would work. I know it cleans toilet bowls. (Makes you wonder what this stuff does to our insides . . . huh?!?!)
Hi Meg - Little scary isn't it. I believe it's the ascorbic acid in Tang that does the trick though. I didn't know about coke in toilet bowls :)
You know... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to..... OK... you probably saw that joke coming a mile away.
We learn something new every day, don't we Debbie? LOL!
Amy
Hi Chuck - Actually, I didn't see that one coming...good one.
Amy - I like learning little tips like this.jic
Debbie...my only question is...if it will eat a stain off a dishwasher...do you really want to drink it?
Shannon - It might clean your pipes out too :) Did you know that cola will remove oil stains from cement floors? Can't remember which does the trick best...Pepsi or Coke. I saw that on HGTV a few years back.
Maybe we won't rust if we drink Tang??
I've not had tang in 20 years. I did not think they still made the stuff.
Dawn - LOL
Chad - I didn't think so either.
Thanks for the information regarding this. It is very good to find out new uses for things. It almost like play dough used to be a wallpaper remover.
Hi Debbie, Yes, Tang really does work. We have cabin rentals near Pigeon Forge and we really need it for the "iron" water there.. God bless and thanks for coming by my pillow blog ;-)
