I don't know about you, but I like to write many of my compositions in MS Word when editing my website. There are no worries about timing out on the server and it's just easy on my eyes, but the transition is not always friendly and can leave a messy html trail.
If you've ever done a copy & paste from MS Word, you may have noticed that the font, bullets and character spacing weren't what you expected after saving and previewing. Try a test and then go back into the edit mode and click on the html tab at the bottom and you'll most likely see a bunch of <mso> stuff all over the place.
This is when the trusty old Notepad is your best friend. This little program that has been around forever and is often overlooked, but very useful and something that MS should never do away with because it's so handy to have and a simple html editor. Yes, you can totally write html in Notepad.
You're going to love the simplicity of this! Just copy & paste your composition from MS Word into Notepad and then copy & paste again over to your website edit panel and all the unnecessary html will be stripped away and you'll be able to edit from there. I discovered this after much frustration and hope that you find it useful.

Hi Debbie, I will surely give it a try :-) I recently tried the NVU program, not a difficult learning curve and I was pretty excited. BUT, when I copied the HTML nothing was the same. Pictures were gone, fonts and font size, gone - font colors, gone. It was disappointing, perhaps I need to revisit the learning curve! LOL

Never thought about notepad! I have used NVU for the last few months and love it. I really like being able to add color to my fonts!
